Simson and Leonard were the only two players to finish in red figures, 1-under-par 143, after the two rounds of stroke play. There were a total of six rounds under par at Victoria National Golf Club, three each day.
'The last couple of days, it's been about the same thing, which is to take advantage of the short holes,' stated Leonard. 'Most of my birdies were from eight feet and in.'
Robert Mielcarz (75) and Sam Farlow (76) shared third place at 2-over-par 146. David Boesel and Doug Crawford each carded rounds of 3-over 75 and ended in a tie for fifth at plus-3.
Gayle Sanchez shot even-par 72 Sunday. He ended alongside Mike Bell, Paul Schlachter and David Rasley in seventh place at 4-over-par 148.
Stephen Yavorsky, Ron Garland, James Pierce, Wayne Harris, Robert Berg, Brian Sachs and Tom McGraw are tied for 59th at 12-over-par 156. Those seven players will playoff Monday morning for the final six spots available for the match play portion of this event.
That playoff will begin at 9:30 a.m. (ET) with the first round beginning at 10:30 a.m. Each match in the match-play portion is scheduled for 18 holes with the final match being contested on Thursday.
