PGA to Stay on TNT


PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- The PGA of America announced Thursday that it has signed a six-year television extension with Turner Network Television (TNT). TNT will continue to broadcast two of the PGA of America's biggest events, the PGA Championship and the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
PGA of AmericaThe PGA of America began their agreement with Turner Sports in 1991 and with the extension, the relationship will continue through 2011.
'We have been long-time partners with The PGA of America and are thrilled to continue this successful relationship by televising the two PGA events,' said Turner Sports President Mark Lazarus.
'We are also pleased to continue our relationship with Turner Sports by extending our television partnership,' said PGA Chief Executive Officer Jim L. Awtrey. 'This alliance should produce dividends for the entire golf industry.'
This year's PGA Championship is scheduled for Aug. 15-18 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn. The PGA Grand Slam of Golf will take place November 26-27 in Hawaii.
