Prime Pairings Set for Baltusrol

PGA of AmericaSPRINGFIELD, N.J. 'Springfield, N.J. -- Tiger Woods, who won this year's Masters and British Open titles, will be paired with U.S. Open champion Michael Campbell in the first two rounds of the season's final major championship, the PGA Championship, this week at Baltusrol.
 
Woods, a two-time PGA Champion, and Campbell are paired with Kevin Sutherland a last-minute replacement for two-time British Open champion Greg Norman who withdrew Tuesday citing fatigue. The threesome will tee off the 10th tee Thursday morning at 8:25 a.m. (ET). They will come back Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. off the first tee.
 
Vijay Singh, who won this crown for the second time at Whistling Straits last year, has an afternoon tee time on Thursday. He will be joined by John Daly, the unlikely winner in 1991, and Davis Love III, the 1997 PGA Champion, on the 10th tee at 1:30 p.m.

Phil Mickelson will play with Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott in the opening rounds at Baltusrol.
Retief Goosen, coming off a win at The International, also has an afternoon pairing on Thursday. The two-time U.S. Open winner is playing with Lee Westwood and 2004 British Open champ Todd Hamilton at 1:50 p.m. off the 1st.
 
Jim Furyk, the 2003 U.S. Open winner, is scheduled to go off at 7:45 a.m. Thursday morning off the 10th tee alongside Colin Montgomerie and Angel Cabrera. Montgomerie is a question mark this week, however, as he hurt his hand in the first round of the Johnnie Walker Championship and had to withdrawal from the event.
 
The 8:05 a.m. tee time Thursday has a pair of excellent groupings. The first tee will have a trio of PGA Champions playing alongside each other. Bob Tway, the 1986 winner, will be joined by 1983 champion Hal Sutton and 2002 winner Rich Beem.
 
Meanwhile, Masters runner-up Chris DiMarco, two-time Masters winner Jose Maria Olazabal and 1997 British Open champion Justin Leonard will tee off the back nine at 8:05 a.m.
 
Paul Azinger, who won the PGA in 1993, tees off Thursday at 8:45 a.m. with 1988 PGA Champion Jeff Sluman and 2001 champion David Toms.
 
Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott, who are both searching for their first major championship wins, are paired together at 1:10 p.m. Thursday. They will play with 2004 Masters champion Phil Mickelson.
 
Lee Janzen, who won the 1993 U.S. Open at Baltusrol, goes off the 10th tee at 1:50 p.m.
 
Three-time major champion Ernie Els will not be in the field this week after hurting his knee recently. He has had surgery on the knee and is expected to be out of action until early in 2006.
