Quigley Looking to Repeat Missouri Magic

Last year Dana Quigley carded a six-under 66 in the final round to defeat hometown favorite Tom Watson by one shot at the Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. Watson began the day six behind and fired a nine-under 63 on Sunday. It was not enough as Quigley rolled home a 12-foot birdie on the final hole for his fourth career victory on the Senior Tour.
Jim Colbert grabbed the lead after the first two rounds, thanks to a course-record 61 in the first round. Colbert's 61 featured eight consecutive birdies on the back nine, tying the Senior Tour record for most consecutive birdies in a round set by Chi Chi Rodriguez in this event in 1987. Colbert had a chance to break the record on 18 but missed a 12-footer.
Colbert is the only two-time winner of this event and has three runner-up finishes. There have been four wire-to-wire winners of this event: Rodriguez in 1987, Colbert in 1991, Gibby Gilbert in 1992 and Dave Stockton in 1993.
Watson's appearance last year was his first in a competitive event in his hometown since his fourth Missouri Amateur in 1971.
This marks the third straight year in which Tiffany Greens is hosting the tournament. Loch Lloyd Country Club had hosted this event from 1991-98, while Quail Creek Golf & Country Club in Oklahoma City was the tournament host the first four years. The purse was increased by $200,000 from last year.
