Scott Monty Singh Headline in India


2007 Johnnie Walker ClassicNEW DELHI, India -- The European Tour returns to action this week with its second event in India, the Johnnie Walker Classic.
The Johnnie Walker Classic moves to India after being played in Thailand last year and Australia the year before.
Anton Haig became the youngest winner of this event last year as he took down Richard Sterne and Oliver Wilson in a playoff. Haig, who was 20 at the time, birdied the first extra hole for the win.
This event is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia. The field this week will be an impressive one.
Coming off their appearance at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, Adam Scott, Colin Montgomerie, Vijay Singh and Soren Hansen all headed to India to try to take the crown from Haig.
Local favorites Jeev Milkha Singh and S.S.P. Chowrasia are also playing this week. Chowrasia, a former caddie, won the Indian Masters three weeks ago.
The GOLF CHANNEL will have coverage from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. all four days.
The European Tour heads to Kuala Lumpur next week for the Malaysian Open, where Peter Hedblom won last year.
