Semifinals Set for Girls Jr Am

USGAFORT WORTH, Texas -- Top-seeded Julieta Granada defeated Esther Choe, 3 and 2, in Thursday's quarterfinal to move on in the U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur.
Granada will face Paula Creamer in one of Friday's semifinal matches. Creamer advanced thanks to a 3-and-2 victory over Selanee Henderson.
The other semifinal will feature Jane Park, a 1-up winner over Morgan Pressel, against Hsiao-Ching Lu, who handled Mina Harigae in Thursday's final quarterfinal match.
Granada and Creamer are no strangers when it comes to this tournament. A year ago at Brooklawn Country Club, Creamer beat Granada, 1-up, but both know this year will be a different test.
'It's going to be a battle of pars and birdies,' said Creamer, who lost to In-
Bee Park, 3 and 2, in last year's semifinal.
'I'm not going to think about what happened last year,' said Granada, who has never trailed in any of her matches this week. 'This is a new year, a new day, and I'm just going to try to give 100 percent of every shot and see what happens.'
Park holed an 8-foot birdie putt at the 17th, but Pressel had a chance to halve the hole. She missed the putt, then put her head in her hands. The two traded pars on 18 to give Park the match.
Lu birdied the 13th and 14th holes to go 2-up. She halved the rest of the holes to earn her first spot in U.S. Girls' Junior Championship semifinals.
'I didn't have too many expectations even though I was a quarterfinalist last year,' said Lu. 'But I thought if I tried my best, we'd see what happens.'
