Wiesner won 1-up to earn a quarterfinal matchup against Sandy Woodruff on Wednesday. Woodruff beat Patty Crigler, 6 and 5.
Earlier in the day, Semple Thompson beat T.L. Allen in the second round, 4 and 3. Wiesner, meanwhile, defeated Annette Gaiotti, 1-up.
Other third-round winners on Tuesday included Marianne Towersey, Elizabeth Haines, Martha Lang, Reggie Parker, Carolyn Creekmore and Ann Lahey.
Towersey downed Patty Moore, 4 and 3, while Haines needed 19 holes to beat Marsha Butler, 1-up. Moore will next face Haines in the quarters.
Lang will next meet Parker. Lang ousted Nancy Smith, 2 and 1, and Parker beat Karen Mabli, 2-up.
The final quarterfinal on Wednesday will pit Creekmore against Lahey. Creekmore beat Martha McCalister, 5 and 4, while Lahey downed Karen Ferree, 1-up.
The semifinal round will also take place on Wednesday.
The Senior Women's Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
