Senior Legends in Hawaii for Skins Game

2005 WendyWAILEA, Hawaii - Like the PGA TOUR, the Champions Tour will begin its season in Hawaii. But unlike the PGA TOUR, where it's all business early in the season, the seniors will start 2007 on a lighter note.

An unofficial event, the Wendy's Champions Skins Game will feature the top two players from last year -- Schwab Cup winner Jay Haas and runner-up Loren Roberts -- teaming with Hall of Fame golfers Arnold Palmer and Gary Player.

Roberts will play with Palmer, and Haas will pair with Player. But their partners aren't the only Hall of Famers in the field.

In one other group, both players are in the Hall: Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus, who were runners-up last year. Defending champions Dana Quigley and Raymond Floyd, also a Hall of Famer, round out the small field.

The two-day event features nine holes each day. The season begins in earnest at next week's MasterCard Championship, where Loren Roberts shot a course-record 61 on Sunday to win.
