'The Senior Tour is very excited about staging the next four Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf tournaments at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Course,' said PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem. 'All the elements are in place for a great tournament and the future of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf in Savannah is very bright. As the event leaves the Jacksonville/St. Augustine area, we wish to thank the many people on Florida's First Coast who supported it the last five years, as well as the World Golf Village for hosting the event.'
The Legends of Golf was first played in 1978 with Liberty Mutual assuming the sponsorship in 1980. The event is the second longest running event in the history of senior golf and it is credited with launching the Senior PGA Tour in 1980.
