Singh Inches Closer to Woods in Rankings

Vijay Singh closed the gap even more in this week's Official World Golf Rankings with his win at the Shell Houston Open on Monday. Singh still remains second to Tiger Woods in the ranking but closed the gap to 2.58 points.

Vijay SinghWoods, who did not play last week, remains the No. 1 player in the world with Singh, second. Ernie Els and Davis Love III remained in the third and fourth positions respectively.
 
A pair of lefties exchanged slots from one week ago. Mike Weir moves back into the fifth spot with Masters champion Phil Mickelson dropping back to sixth.
 
The remainder of the top-10 remained unchanged with Jim Furyk, Padraig Harrington, Retief Goosen and Stuart Appleby rounding out the top 10 spots.
 
Kenny Perry stayed put at No. 11, while Chad Campbell and Adam Scott traded the 12th and 13th spaces. Darren Clarke, No. 14, and David Toms, No. 15, also flip-flopped spots from last week.
 
Scott Verplank, Jonathan Kaye and Nick Price held onto positions Nos. 16 through 18. K.J. Choi and Jay Haas exchanged spaces this week to close out the top-20 with Choi, No. 19, and Haas slipping one spot to 20th.
 
Christian Cevaer, who won the Canarias Open de Espaa last week, climbed into the top-200 for the first time coming in at No. 165.
