Singh Moves Up to Third


PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Vijay Singh won the John Deere Classic in a Monday finish, and in the process moved up to third in this week's World Golf Rankings. The win was Singh's third of 2003 and he jumped to first on the PGA Tour's money list.
Tiger Woods remained in first place for the 214th consecutive week and is followed by Ernie Els and Singh.
Davis Love III fell one spot to fourth, followed by Masters champion Mike Weir, who switched places this week with U.S. Open winner Jim Furyk. David Toms, Kenny Perry and Padraig Harrington held on to their rankings from last week.
Retief Goosen captured the Trophe Lancme on the European Tour and the 2001 U.S. Open champion climbed two spaces to No. 10. Phil Mickelson, who opened the season at No. 2, dipped one notch to 11th.
Nick Price fell one to 12th, followed by Darren Clarke, Chris DiMarco and Justin Leonard, the last two switching spots from the previous week.
Robert Allenby stayed in 16th, while Jay Haas rose to 17th. Sergio Garcia dropped to 18th followed by Adam Scott and Thomas Bjorn.
