MEXICO CITY, Mexico -- Annika Sorenstam completed her 2005 debut in style with a 4-under 68 on Sunday to win the inaugural MasterCard Classic. Sorenstam finished the event at 7-under-par 209 for her 57th career victory on the LPGA Tour.

Karrie Webb finished alone in second place at 4-under-par 212. Cristie Kerr held a two-shot lead heading into the final round at Bosque Real Country Club but struggled with a 75 to join first-round leader Hee-Won Han in a tie for third at 3-under-par 213.

Local favorite Lorena Ochoa capped off her week with a strong showing and a 68 that moved her into the fifth spot at 2-under-par 214.

It didn't take long for Sorenstam to grab the lead on Sunday. She assumed the top position on the leaderboard with three consecutive birdies starting at the par-3 second and reached 7 under with a birdie at the fifth. Sorenstam then made it five straight with a birdie at the par-5 sixth to take a commanding lead at minus-8.

Things got interesting from that point on, however, as the top player in the game bogeyed three in a row from the seventh to make the turn at 5 under.

Sorenstam regained her composure on the inward half with a birdie at the 10th. She added a birdie at the 12th and got back to 8 under with a birdie at the 15th. Sorenstam then coasted to her first victory of the season despite a bogey at the par-4 17th.

Webb found trouble early with a bogey at the second, but she countered with back-to-back birdies from the third. Webb then birdied the sixth, but gave that shot back with a bogey at the eighth.

The Australian bogeyed the 11th, but responded again with a birdie at the very next hole. Webb stumbled to another bogey at the 15th, but just like before, was able to recover. She birdied two in a row starting at the 16th for a round of 70.

Kerr struggled early in the wind and tallied a pair of bogeys over her first nine holes to fall well behind Sorenstam. She picked up a birdie at the 10th but faltered with a bogey at the 13th. Kerr then double bogeyed the 15th and salvaged what she could with a birdie at the 16th.

Tour rookie Paula Creamer carded a 68 share sixth place with Michele Redman at 1-under-par 215. Kim Saiki and Helen Alfredsson followed at even-par 216.
