Stricker Moves into Top 20 in World Rankings


Steve Stricker's second-place finish at the Wachovia Championship moved the reigning PGA TOUR Comeback Player of the Year into the top 20 of this week's Official World Golf Ranking.
Stricker jumped up 24 places this week to No. 18.
Tiger Woods won his first Wachovia Championship Sunday and broadened the gap between himself and world No. 2 Jim Furyk. Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Ernie Els rounded out the top five.
Henrik Stenson, Vijay Singh, Geoff Ogilvy, Retief Goosen and Luke Donald stayed in spots 6-10.
Padraig Harrington, Trevor Immelman, Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia and Masters champion Zach Johnson remained in their rankings from last week.
Charles Howell III came in 16th, followed by Rory Sabbatini, who moved up to 17th. Stricker took No. 18, while Nick O'Hern fell two to 19th. David Toms dipped one to No. 20.
Stuart Appleby was 20th one week ago, but sank to No. 25 this week.
