With Surprise Win Yang Moves into Top-40


Korea's Yong-Eun Yang, the surprise winner Sunday at the HSBC Champions Tournament, received a bump of 39 places in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Yang trumped players like Tiger Woods and Retief Goosen for his third worldwide title in two months and moved to world No. 38 in Monday's rankings.
Woods, who finished second behind Yang by two shots, remained No. 1 and was again followed by Jim Furyk, Phil Mickelson and Adam Scott. Retief Goosen tied for third at Sheshan International and moved up one spot to fifth, knocking Vijay Singh to sixth.
Luke Donald finished 14th in China, but was knocked from the No. 7 position by Ernie Els.
Sergio Garcia, Geoff Ogilvy, Padraig Harrington, Henrik Stenson, Trevor Immelman, David Howell and Paul Casey held onto places 9-15.
Davis Love III moved up one spot to 16th, knocking David Toms to 17th, and Colin Montgomerie, Jose Maria Olazabal and Chris DiMarco rounded out the top 20.
