Heading into the final hole, Teske led Hjorth by one shot. Hjorth knocked her second shot on the par-5 18th hole on the green, just 20 feet away while Teske was bunkered behind the green in two. Teske blasted out five feet away while Hjorth two-putted for birdie to briefly tie for the lead. Teske then rolled in her birdie putt for the win, her first since winning back-to-back titles in 1999.
Teske will try to join Laura Davies as the only back-to-back winner of this event. Davies, who tied for 11th last year, won this event in 1995-96 and finished second in '99.
This event is co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour (The Evian Tour) and features a field of 78 players with no cut being made.
The tournament starts on Wednesday and concludes Saturday.
Although this is the ninth Evian Masters, the tournament is in its third year on the LPGA circuit.
