Trombley Richey Capture Celebrity Event


MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- Mike Trombley and Cliff Richey fired a 13-under-par 58 on Sunday to capture the Jamaica Classic. They finished the two-day event at 17-under-par 125 and bested a pair of teams by seven strokes at White Witch Golf Club.
Former NHL players Grant Fuhr and Clark Gillies combined for a 7-under 64 to join Andy Van Slyke and Ed Westfall, who posted the same number, in a tie for second at minus-10.
Sunday's final round was contested as a scramble where each player hit their own tee shots and after choosing the best one, each player hit his second shot from there and so on until the hole is complete.
Shane Rawley and George Gervin teamed for an 8-under 63 and shared fourth place with Don Edwards and Marshall Holman, who combined for a 61 on Sunday. The teams came in at 9-under-par 133.
Dick Anderson and Alex Hyde-White shot a final-round 68 and took sixth at 6- under-par 136. The teams of Jack Marin and John Ebersole (66) and Sherwood Stewart and Jim McMahon (68) tied for seventh at 4-under-par 138.
