Turtle Bay Championship added to Senior Tour

The Senior PGA Tour will be making its return to the island of Oahu, Hawaii this fall, when the Turtle Bay Championship makes its debut in the first week of October.
Oahu hasn't held a Senior event since 1992 when the Ko Olina Senior Classic was won by Chi Chi Rodriguez. To make room on the Senior schedule, the Turtle Bay Championship replaces the EMC Kaanapali Classic, which was won in 2000 by Hale Irwin.
The event will be played on The Links, which was designed by Arnold Palmer. Turtle Bay also hosted the 1988 Senior Skins Game.
The total purse for the event will be $1.5 million, with the top finisher tallying $225,000. The first round will begin Friday, October 5 with a 78-player field.
