Woods Confirms Marriage on Website

ST. JAMES, Barbados -- Tiger Woods confirmed his wedding to Swedish model Elin Nordegren on his website Friday.
'There certainly has been a lot of speculation about my personal life, which is why Elin and I wanted to confirm that we got married on Tuesday, October 5th in Barbados,' said Woods, 28. 'Elin and I celebrated this wonderful occasion with our close friends and family and we look forward to starting our new life together.'
The two were married at Sandy Lane Resort.
There was much speculation that Woods and Nordegren, 24, were going to tie the knot last week at the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship, but Woods, who is intensely private about his life, would not confirm.
'I'm ready to go diving. I'm ready to hop in that water and shoot some fish,' said Woods, in reference to a question about going to Barbados for a vacation.
Woods and Nordegren got engaged last year after the Presidents Cup. Woods proposed at Shamwari Game Reserve near Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The two dated for close to two years before getting engaged. The couple met at the British Open where Nordegren was working as a nanny for PGA Tour player Jesper Parnevik's children.
