ARCADIA, Mich. -- Set high above Lake Michigan, Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club is one of the most popular public golf courses in Michigan.
Designed by Rick Smith and Warren Henderson, the course opened in 1999 and sits on 245 acres of lakefront property high above the lake. The course is a popular pick in state and national rankings as Michigan's top public golf course.
Arcadia Bluffs features five par 5s and five par 3s, including three par 5s in the first five holes. The golf course can play as long as 7,300 yards and features large, rolling green at an average size of 8,000 square feet. The course has a mix of both natural bunkers and 50 deep, sod-walled bunkers.
In 2010, the club opened up a 15-room lodge above the clubhouse. Other facilities include a full driving range, practice area and GPS-equipped golf carts. Walking is encouraged but difficult, so caddies and forecaddies are available upon request.
