HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort boasts one of the Southeast's top golf vacation experiences. The resort is home to three miles of ocean coastline as well as three championship golf courses.
Palmetto Dunes' Robert Trent Jones Course features oceanfront views as well as signature Jones-designed bunkers and challenge. The Jones course celebrated its 40th birthday in 2009 and plays just more than 6,700 yards from the championship tees.
Next door, the Arthur Hills Course opened in 1986. It's equally demanding, winding over and around canals and through lowcountry mossy oaks. The third course at Palmetto Dunes, the George Fazio Course, opened in 1974 but received a major renovation in 1994. Today, it plays a par 70 and rounds out the four-star golf options available to guests of the resort and all golfers on Hilton Head Island.
Awarded a "Top 75 Golf Resort" by Golf Magazine, golfers at Palmetto Dunes can choose between air-conditioned golf carts and Segway X2 personal transporters.
