In a relatively short period, Bandon Dunes Resort has risen to become one of the most famous golf resorts in the world - all without having never hosted any major professional sporting event.
Golfing World pays a visit to this 21st century golf mecca that is now home to four 18-hole courses and a 13-hole short course (and this summer, the resort will debut a massive putting course named "Punchbowl"). Hank Hickox, general manager of the resort, offers some insight on a variety of topics, from its inception to its massive caddie program and USGA partnership.

Meanwhile, Pacific Gales, a new development planned just down the road, will begin construction this year on an 18-hole links course on the coast, which could make this destination even more worthy of an international audience.
