SOUTHHAMPTON, Bermuda – Silly is a relative term when one is referring to the collection of post-season cash grabs for PGA Tour types and those who work for them.
During an afternoon scouting trip at Port Royal Golf Club, site of this week's PGA Grand Slam of Golf, we spotted Scott Gneiser, David Toms' caddie, doing some field work.
Neither player nor caddie has ever played the seaside layout and the yardage book provided by the club is of little use with some of the tees officials plan to use for the 36-hole event.
At No. 10, for example, players will tee off on the first tee box, adding about 30 yards to the downhill par 5.
'I'm going to be here all day,' Gneiser said.
