Stay and play at Kapalua on Maui before the pros

RSS

The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua on Maui is rolling out the red carpet leading up to their time in the spotlight when they kick off the 2011 PGA Tour schedule for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, where 2010 PGA Tour winners are treated to a week of golf in the sun and a guaranteed piece of the $5.6 million purse.

The Ritz-Carlton is currently offering their 'Island Paradise' package, which gives guests a free fifth night when you book four, plus daily breakfast.

Or, upgrade to 'Island Paradise Luxury,' which offers suite or club level accommodations, a fifth night free, plus $500 in resort credit.

With the $500, guests will be able to spend the credit on dining and spa services, which will leave some money in your pocket to book tee times. Kapalua is home to two 18-hole courses, the original Bay Course, a more traditional resort-style course designed by Arnold Palmer down along the coastline. The newer Plantation Course, a Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design, welcomes 2010's PGA Tour winners to its spectacular location high above the ocean on a former pineapple plantation.

If you're looking for options beyond Kapalua, just down the coastline is Ka'anapali's two golf courses, Ka'anapali Kai and Royal Ka'anapali.

The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua package deals start at $495-$545 per night and are valid through Dec. 22, just before the tour pros start blowing into town Jan. 3-9, 2011.
