What-if scenario at Royal Dornoch

DORNOCH, Scotland -- 'Welcome to the Highlands,' our caddie hissed just as a wind gust nearly blew him off his feet.

Gusts whipped to 40 mph on the storied links late Sunday and the thought occurs it is a shame the Open Championship has never ventured this far north.

Without some wind next week at St. Andrews the winning total will easily be in double digits. With a little help from Mother Nature and anything around par could deliver the claret jug.

At St. Andrews next week there will be plenty of harping about the new tee at the 17th hole. If they get weather like this they wouldn't have to use the new teeing ground.
