Grand finale: Perry wins in advance of final major
Lanny Wadkins and Brian Hammons break down the final round of the 2014 3M Championship. For awhile, it looked as if Kenny Perry would run away and hide with the 3M championship. He had a four shot lead on the back nine, but we shouldn't be surprised. Bernhardt Langer, Mr. Relentless chased him down. wellness he did and he was playing quality golf. He started, his irons got hot is what happened and his irons got dialed in, then all of then sudden the putter just followed suit. Yeah. It was off to the races for Bernhard. He really kind of shocked he didn't stuff it at 18, made par there and opened the door for Kenny Perry . And Kenny Perry certainly made it interesting on the 18th hole. He had to get up and down from a tough spot. Well, he did. He, he actually admitted he was trying to hit it off, as he called it, the green monster, the grandstands behind the, the greens and have it bounce back and, and try for the up and down. Rather than putting the water in play with his second shot so carried that interest, had a tougher chip made it all work out though. Made the birdie put for his second win this year and now Kenny Perry will play in the PGA championship. He's saying this is gonna be his final major championship , it's in his home state of Kentucky. How do you think he'll do next week? Well, I think he'll be very exciting. I think he's probably great he's gonna be there early. Get everything, all the business of family and friends and badges out of the way so when Thursday rolls around he'll be ready to play golf. He's playing very very well. He's had good experience at Valhalla, lost the PGA championship in a playoff to Mark Brooks there, and then played on a winning Ryder Cup team at Valhalla. So lot of great memories for Kenny. Going back there. Well Bernhard Langer finishes in second place and extends his lead in the race for the Charles Schwab Cup. Next stop for the Champions Tour the Dick's Sporting Goods Open coming up in a couple of weeks.

Lanny Wadkins and Brian Hammons recap Round 3 of the Allianz Championship, where Michael Allen leads by one.right there to pick up a win. And I'm also looking at Tom Lehman and Jay Haas who haven't won in quite a while. I expect some of those guys to really make a serious run in Michael Allen tomorrow. -So, who would you favor on Sunday? -I'm still looking at Michael. Mike check: Recap of Allen's playoff triumph
Lanny Wadkins and Brian Hammons recap the final round of the Allianz Championship.about. But he saw a bigger gap there than I did and Billy Ray , so a great shot there by Michael Allen. And the 2nd time around all he do is, keep it low. He hit them solid both times. That was the key, he hit solid golf shots. -Michael Allen seems to be getting more and more confident every year. Does-- you think this is gonna be a big year for him? -I do. I don't see any reason he shouldn't keep winning tournaments and be a factor in the majors out here this year. I also like the fact that, you know, he plays loose. He plays like he's got a lot of confidence on what he's doing. That's a good thing. -Michael Allen, now our 6-time winner on the Champions Tour .
