Patrick Reed fired a 2nd-round 69 Friday to tie Jordan Spieth for the lead heading into the weekend at Chambers Bay.chance to win. Three shots. Is it shaping up to be a horse race , do you think? Yeah, it's definitely gonna be a tournament that anyone has a chance to win. If a guy goes out and shoots [golfer] Then he gets really hot and goes and shoots 7, 8 under par. I mean who knows what he's going to do with the scoreboard, so. Yeah that's how it is at every US Open and it seems like, you know, until the 72nd hole is done, it's everybody's game. And I just have to go in and take it hole by hole, shot by shot, and hopefully at the end, have a chance. [female reporter] Patrick, your thoughts on playing the third round of the US open with Jordan Ryder Cup partner. It's gonna be fun. Any time I get to play with Jordan I enjoy it so you know the main thing for me is just stay focused and focus on what I need to do to play some good golf and you know hopefully my around this golf course especially if it gets firmer and faster and knowing where to leave the golf ball. What did you learn about Jordan during the Ryder Cup week that you hadn't known about him before. Nothing. I knew he was a great player before. So You know it didn't

Summer time: Surprise U.S. Open contender
Daniel Summerhays shot 67 Friday to reach 3 under at the U.S. Open.but overall, I mean, anytime you can make six birdies on this golf course . You're doing a lot of good things. So, I was fortunate to get a few putts to sneak in the edges andyet. Clogged a toilet, but that's fine. That can be fixed. Did todays round feel different than yesterdays being out there in the morning or any of the changes they made today? Well I actually. I was surprised how far the ball was still going even this morning. The forecast is gonna be pretty cool but the clouds cleared out pretty quick, and the ball's going plenty far today. The greens, I felt like, were probably a little more puttable, I think, the morning round versus afternoon. And that's typically the case on any golf course , but I felt, as far as my game goes, I still, yesterday I hit a lot of solid shots too, just didn't quite capitalize on some of those 12, 15 footers for birdy and today, a few more of them fell in for me. You and Tony both guys and you both had good guys today. You guys talk about Something beforehand going into this? You guys got this big deal on at home here? No, not really. I mean I did, it was kinda cool cuz as I was on eight green I actually watched Tony make his birdie putt on number nine there, so that was fun. But I didn't know he was at and hopefully we'll get paired together tomorrow, mountains, all that, it reminds me of home a little bit. The golf course doesn't remind me at all of home, but the scenery and landscape for sure does. Okay, thanks guys.

Well Bailey, it's a little bit of a crapshoot because any PGA Tour player can finish inside the top five, and play his way into the year's third Major . But I'm gonna give you two guys who have played well at the Greenbrier and can certainly do the same again this week and try and earn that British Open spot. I think the first one is Pat Perez has a great history at the Greenbrier. Ten of his last 12 rounds there have been in the 60s, top ten finishes
