Phillips: Fitness is all in the hips

There's a lot of people who have lower back pain in golf, now most lower back pain doesn't occur in the lower back. It occurs because the hip is dysfunctional. If the hip can't internally rotate, then what you'll do in your golf swing is you'll use your lower back to turn. -[unk]Yeah. -So a lot of times when you feel pain in your golf swing , that's not where the pain's occurring. It's the joint above it or the joint below it. -Or both. -Or both. So theof a lot of problems here. -In both physically and for the golf swing . -Absolutely! -So here's a quick exercise you can do. Just grab hold of this drivers okay. -Yeah. -And basically, what I want you to do is just hook your leg around- actually standing leg on this one. And, you know, hook your leg around like this. And simply do what we call some hip twisters. So just slowly start turning your hip. So what we're doing here, you see. -Whoa-- -It's even a little difficult here for Matt. Notice how he lost his balance a little bit there?
