School of Golf: Specialty shots
'School of Golf' host Martin Hall teaches you how to play the ball out of a divot and handle numerous other tough situations.club and sticking it into the ground, I want you to think left shoulder and as you swing through I want you to think left shoulder back and up. It doesn't just go up. It turns but it goes up. Some practice swings with just your right hand on your left shoulder . Feel your left shoulder go up. That gets the club up off of the ground pretty quickly and if your left shoulder goes up, it is very difficult to hit it fat, heavy. You know too much ground which is the big mistake into-the-green. Okay, left shoulder up fixes that one. Now, what about if we're going down green? Because the easiest thing if you're going down green is to actually to hit it a bit thin. When you make your practice swing this time with your right hand on your left shoulder , keep the left shoulder down and feel like the club stays down to the ground. This one is much easier other than the ball tends to come out a bit lower. So left shoulder down, keep the left shoulder down as you pop it forward.
