Best chance to defend: McIlroy, Poulter or Park?- Morning Drive
World No. 1 Rory McIlroy, Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter or Hee Young Park? 'Morning Drive' host Gary Williams and Damon Hack tell you which one is most likely to defend this week.in Naples this year. Last year, they were in the Orlando area. Ian Poulter depending in Australia, the Talisker Masters, and again, this was an event at a different course last year, and the UBS Hong Kong Open for Rory McIlroy. He is the one who has familiarity having won there last year. Who do you like best chances-wise this week? -I lean Ian Poulter while I can see some sentiment for Rory McIlroy I think that fact that he just clinched the Race to Dubai maybe a little bit of a let down. Ian Poulter to me is a flare to watch in 2013. I love the way he's playing. I think he's putting the building block so he can have a very special 2013, but before we get to 2013, I think, he'll do very well this week. -I think you're dead on with respect to 2013. I think he's one of the 5 most interesting figures in men's golf Considering now American golf hence have 3 Ryder Cups to look at and go, how do you do this. Now, can you translate it consistently in stroke play events? He is not won a stroke play event on the PGA Tour officially -Right. -but he does have that World Golf Championship that next year will be an official win on the PGA tour . It still is Rory for me, Damon, considering that yes, could there be a sense of satisfaction him doing what he did, knowing it over with respect to that money title. He's just so darn good right now, and I think that he just will wheel his way into that top 5 into that top 5 with a chance to contend and possibly win on the weekend. So, I go Rory. You go Ian Poulter . The reality is we have 3 good events that, you know, again, it doesn't wrap it up on the European tour , but for the LPGA tour. They've had a good year. They've added events. The interesting to see, can Stacey Lewis emphatically put the hammer down with respect to that pioneer. We know she is getting it. If she wins this week, that's one of the great years we've seen recently action of a major. -Absolutely, it will be interesting to see how other Americans respond as well. You know, the damn is broken finally after 18 years. How does Cristie Kerr respond, Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, and other Americans that are waiting for bigger things ahead. -And the last event on the PGA Tour this year with respect to the FedEx Cup player won by Brandt Snedeker. He's with us on Thursday for the entire 2
