Highlights from first-round play at the 2014 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, where Stacy Lewis carded a round of 65 to take the lead by one shot.The Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club presented beautifully for the opening day of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia of 2014. Our fifth visit to this layout. And there were birdies aplenty early on in the round. Here's Shanshan Feng of China in front of the home crowd last week. A lot of pressure on her. And she wasn't able to defend but she came up with an excellent opening round today. 4 under par round of 67. Thanks to shots like that one at 4. Sue Yun Yu knocking in a birdie putt and she was making things look pretty easy early in her round. This is her approach at 13. She was actually five under par through seven holes. Another birdie coming there, went through a little bit of a bumpy patch on 14 and 15 with bogeys, but then rolled in a birdie putt at the final hole. That was a five under par round of 66. Na Yeon Choi. Past winner here also came outon the opening day. Here she is at the fifth with her tee shot . She was right in contention until the 71st hole last week. She went about as close as went there at 5. Out in 32, looked herself handily the hole at 11. Knocked in another birdie putt there to go on the back of a birdie at 10 and she was really charging. Some of the players are really laboring in these intense conditions. But what are you gonna do now then? I'm gonna go and hit a few balls and work on a few things. You know, I, I grew up in Texas, so I'm used to this humidity. And I love it when it's hot. You know, the ball goes a mile. So it, it's fun to play in.
