Ultimate Match Play Venues: The top 16 seeds
Matt Ginella starts the ultimate Match Play Venues brackets. Watch Morning Drive everyday 7AM ET.players this week at the Accenture Match Play Championship. You're talking about golf courses . You're very consistent. How did you come up with the idea of ranking the best Match Play venues? -Well, we know theplays out through the week. But look at this list of great golf courses . Again, TPC Sawgrass. Look at that. A lot of risk/reward throughout the round and that fantastic finish. Pete Dye likes to have a par-3, a par-4, and a par-5-- somewhere in the mix of those last three holes. So, lot of good Pete Dye courses on this list. -I've played a lot of these courses. I've never played question mark, question mark, question mark. Number 16.
Neither Pine Valley nor Augusta No. 1 course
Geoff Shackelford gives his opinion to Gary Williams about which course is better - Pine Valley or Augusta National. Watch Morning Drive 7AM ET.ten years, last five years of Golf Digest ranking of hundred greatest Augusta National and Pine Valley . Its its lead changes. It's very exciting for people who are monitoring the top two. Are these two the best golf courses in the country? And if not, who is? No, no I don't think they are right now in their current state and I know that wouldn't make me very popular at either one, but you know I'm a bit of an architecture snob Matty, so I feel like if you're going to be in that first or second spot, everything has to be firing on all cylinders and with all due respect to both of those great, great clubs and courses. Pine Valley and Augusta are, are not quite where they, once were, and, and, you know, you just have to look at the old photographs. Pine Valley has a beautiful book of old photos, and Augusta really gets to see some great old shots of how the course used to be. And, we even had memories of it not that long ago, and I just feel that to be in that high position- every architectural detail has to be just right and and I'm sorry Augusta's got some tree plantings that are just awful and Pine Valley's evolved in some ways, probably too many trees and the sandy areas aren't as intimidating as they used to be and I

And again, Augusta National versus Oakmont. Let's decide a winner right now. For me, you know, Oakmont, great hole after great hole. But there's nothing better than the back nine at Augusta National Think of 2004 Ernie Els or Phil Mickelson That was electric back there. Every Masters generally tends to be some form of a match play when it gets down to
Ultimate Match Play Venues: Augusta vs. Old Course

And right now, Augusta National , 60 percent of the votes, to the Old Course is 40 percent of the vote, roughly speaking. Now, I would argue-- and this is also part of what's weighed my decision talking to Chris DiMarco and John Cook, going back and really dissecting Augusta National and the Old Course. Augusta National , they said, back in 2000-- built by Alister MacKenzie, and we know about his philosophy hole by hole and as it relates
