Golfing World Course Report: Sotogrande in Andalucia, Spain
Golfing World heads to Sotogrande, on the Costa Del Sol, to take a closer look at their stunning range of golfing options including La Reserva Golf Clubhigh-profile courses in the Andalucia region like Valderrama and San Roque. The golf course , was opened in 2004. So it's quite a new facility. It's been designed by Cabil Robinson, he's an American Architect, he lives in Spain, his base is there, he's done some great golf courses in the coast here, and this is probably one of the best. What I like about the golf course is you've got a good blend, you've got some long holes, but you've also got quite a few short holes where you'vequality about it, in terms of its reputation, the quality of the Golf Course , and the hotel of course, as well. La Reserva also welcomed the European tour in 2014, with the NH collection open. We know this is perfect, we have a perfect place for tourism. We have two ports, we have one airport. We have freed some space. After four days of intense competition at the NH collection open, Italy's Marco claimed his maiden European tour victory, finishing two shots clear of Spain's Garcia Pinto and Scotland's Richie Ramsey. Well, I think probably around this a prime, you know, a golfing destination down here in the Costa del Sol. I mean, you got not only Valderrama. You got this golf course and Both courses. I mean, it's probably the, the best destination and the best golf courses in the Costa del Sol. So it's definitely a place, a place to come. Andalfia has hosted several tournaments, internationally recognized for the last year such as the Ryder Cup , in 1997, and so many viewer tournaments. Most of the, of the courses have been designed by international, recognized architects. And, it's, it's really a paradise for golf lovers. Apart from golf Andalusia offers a variety of options to enjoy from the mountains of the Sierra Nevada , to the beaches of the Costa del Sol with fine food and wine every step of the way. The first thing I
