Roger, thank you so much for coming in today. You intimidated by that USGA Junior Championship of mine? -I'm a little flustered by it, Charlie. Yes. I am right now. No doubt. -I think you're gonna be all right. Let's talk a little bit of golf. How did you first get interested in golf? -Well, my wife got me my first set of golf clubs about 1986, just after I turned professionally with the Boston Red Sox , 1984. And then, a good friend, Billy Andrade , asked me to come shortly thereafter to play in the AT&T, and he had to have an 18 handicap, I think, to get it. I said, I'm not an 18. -He goes, "We're putting 18 down and you're gonna play." And about-- I got pneumonia after three or four days playing out there. But I loved it because, Charlie, I enjoyed playing next to guys that are very good at what they do. And I'm a visual person, and so, I was trying to watch how these guys not only swing the club but work their way around the golf course . I also like to see their temperament, who was aggressive playing the course, and who was a little more passive. But it
