On tap in the Grill Room: Elin, Furyk and golf movies
Bailey Mosier brings you the happenings this week in golf, online and in the social space including the greatest movies never made. Visit us at golfchannel.com/grillroom .started, here's a look at what's on tap in this week's episode. Adam Scott got married recently, but I'll tell you why there's still reason to hold out hope. Jim Ferit turned 44 this week, and to celebrate, we take a look at Jim's swing like you've never seen before. And last week we asked you to send in your greatest golf movies never made. We'll tell you which movies made the cut. Let's get things started with the PGA tour's most recent champion, Martin Kymer. The 29-year-old now has a Players, a major championship, and a WGC title. All sounds like the makings of a man you'd expect to see styling down a red carpet. Well you'd be half right. Kaymer was seen on carpet following his Player's win, but it was blue. And instead of styling, it was more of a sitting Indian style. On Monday in the Jacksonville airport, golf blogger Stephanie Wade snapped this photo of Kaymer waiting on his flight to this week's Byron Nelson Championship. His flight got delayed twice, and he eventually chartered a plan out of Florida. But, for a while there, we really thought he was just like us. Now from the man who is seemingly on top of the world to the man who will literally be on top of the world rankings by the end of this week. Adam Scott is not teeing it up in this week's Byron Nelson Championship, but will ascend to number one in the world in the comfort of his own home. In the Bahamas with his wife. Talk about a tough gig. That's right, you heard me correctly. I said Adam Scott is married. And if that's news to you, well, join the club. Scott wed long time girlfriend, Marie, the week after the Masters, yet, managed to keep it a secret from the world for about three weeks. Now, we have yet to see any photographic proof of said wedding. And I believe former Big Break contestant, Annie Brophy, spoke for women everywhere when she tweeted. I can only hope that Adam Scott's alleged wife looks a lot like Manti Te'os girlfriend. Hashtag so you're saying there's a chance. The silver lining, ladies, is Ryan
Don't press send! Elk in hot water over tweet
Kelly Tilghman, Damon Hack, Paige Mackenzie and Mark Rolfing discuss the controversial tweets of Steve Elkington. Watch Morning Drive everyday 7AM ET.-Back on Morning Drive on a Wednesday. Steve Elkington has waited in the controversy again and Twitter was the vehicle yesterday. "ESPN covering Michael Sam as a gay athlete is embarrassing." He deleted that tweet. ESPN reporting Michael Sam-- Michael Sam, of course, a linebacker now and gonna be in the NFL has leading the handbag throw at NFL combine. No one else expected to throw today and finally goes back "to a ball hit an oriental spectator. There is no oriental spectator, they are just spectators like M. Sam. He's just an athlete. So Steve Elkington never afraid to voice his opinion but the PGA Tour has a statement as well, "Under our regulations, conduct unbecoming a professional includes public commentary that is clearly inappropriate or offensive. With respect to this matter and consistent with our longstanding policy , we do not comment on our player disciplinary matters." Folks, this is a very interesting story. Michael Sam, of course came outgreat stories going on, Florida Swing is starting and we're talking about Steve Elkington's tweets. That is utterly ridiculous. -Why do all this-- the Tour has to take a look at this. This is a continuing a behavior of hurtful comments from a golfer. And Steve Elkington has to look at himself and decide, does he wanna be known as the 1995 PGA Champion or for his tweets?
