FOL: WGC going to Mexico like 'Seinfeld' episode
Matt Adams gives his take on the PGA Tour moving the World Golf Championship event from Trump National Doral to Mexico City. Here is the statement from Donald Trump which he released as all of this was going on. When we that video clip that I just played for you yesterday with the breaking news. We didn't have this statement when we did that, it came out as all of this news was starting to pour out into the marketplace as soon as Golf Channel announced it, Tim Rosenberg wrote the story. And we broke in live. It started a whole chain of events. So, this is the statement from Donald Trump and it reads, it is a sad day for Miami, the United States and the game of golf, to have the PGA Tour consider moving the World The Golf Championships which have been hosted in Miami for the last 55 years. To Mexico. No different than Nabisco, Carrier and so many other American companies. The PGA Tour has put profit ahead of thousands of American jobs. Millions of dollars in revenue for local communities and charities, and the enjoyment of hundreds of thousands of fans who make the tournament an annual tradition. This decision only further embodies the very reason I am running for President of the United States, that statement from Donald Trump . So, then Tim Finchum spoke at the Memorial. And he told the assembled that the decision was not about politics, it was not about the tour trying to distance themself from Donald Trump , it was about money, which Trump said in his statement. It was about profits. Now having said that. And I don't knowagree with Rory that it's almost Seinfeldian ironic That the event, the PGA tour chooses to pull the event from Trump Doral, and it's going to Mexico. I mean, that's a Seinfeld script. But okay, it'son every step along the way here. My concern is, That the PGA TOUR which is inherently conservative. And I think that was, I'm paraphrasing but I think Tim Finchem he said that yesterday in his comments, right? The PGA TOUR , the fuel that drives the PGA TOUR are the tens of thousands of volunteers In these communities that host these events. The PGA tour is a not for profit organization, which means they're not paying taxes on all that. That's the reason why they raise billions
