rising senior at Tennessee, Chattanooga, adding his name to the list of US Amateur Championship winners. 37 holes, Brandel, on Sunday to beat Michael Weaver of Cal, great finish. -Well, he was a long shot justthe rest of his life, he will be announced as a former US Amateur champion. Of course, it will get him in the Masters, the US Open, and who knows, 10, 20 years from now, maybe we're still talking about Steven Fox. -How about Weaver? He also gets the invitation to the Masters, also gets the invitation to the US Open if they remain amateurs. Still, it's tough to get this far. Both these players survived a 17 for 14 playoff just to get to Match Play. Unfortunately, somebody has to lose. How does he bounce back? -Well, I'm not sure, but he was one of the best stories of this US Amateur . You've already mentioned that he prevailed in the playoff just to get into the Match Play, but he also prevailed when he was 3 down with 6 to go in a round of 32, 2 down with 2 to go in a round of 16. There are some very famous runner-ups that he-- in the US amateur that he can take heart from. In 2002, it was Hunter Mahan who left here somewhat disappointed. Well, we know what he's gone on to do; 1979, it was John Cook who left the US Amateur somewhat disappointed. He had a just short of a Hall of Fame career. So perhaps, we're gonna continue talking about both Michael Weaver and Steven Fox, but overall, it was a fantastic Amateur Championship. -Both of them just 21 years of age.
