Bernhard Langer - Distance and Control - Golf Channel Academy
Bernhard Langer shares important keys for gaining distance and control with the driver. For more 'Golf Channel Academy' show content, click here .To get your maximum distance and control, there comes 2 things coming to my mind. One is, obviously you wanna hit the sweet spot off the club. People have no idea how much yardage they loose when they hit it on the heel, on the bottom of the toe, or high on the club. And to get that you have to swing within yourself and you have to stay in your spine angle. So I'm gonna demonstrate one shot here. Seem a lot of people they dip as they hit or they raise up or they spin out and that causes you to hit off the sweet spot . To get that ball consistently in the sweet spot to get extra 10, 15 yards just by hitting it solid, you wanna maintain your spine angle through the shot. You don't wanna sway, you don't wanna go up and down, and it looks like this. You know, it's amazing how much further and straighter the ball goes when you hit it in the sweet spot in the middle of the club face. The other thing I would suggest, go talk to your local pro and find out

The problem if you do move up and down , you're gonna hit it fat or thin and I see it a lot. People move down in the backswing, now if they
