The PGA tour moves into Palm Beach County this week with the 41st edition of the Honda Classic. Established as the tournament’s permanent home back in 2007, the PGA National Golf Club’s Champion Course is a par 70 layout best known for its Jack-Nicklaus designed ‘Bear Trap,’ the infamous stretch of closing holes 15,16, and 17, said to be some of the toughest in South Florida. This venue has been the site of a number of memorable events including the 1982 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, the 1983 Ryder Cup, and the 1987 PGA Championship. Defending champion Rory McIlroy will return to defend his championship, which made him number one of the Official World Gold Rankings with his 2012 win.
