Since Big Break Greenbrier…

The eighth competitor eliminated on Big Break Greenbrier in 2012, a lot has happened in Brian’s life on and off the course since the series.  On the course, he is continuing to play on the mini-tour circuit while pursuing his PGA TOUR dreams.  Brian has won four tournaments since filming the series, including the recent Scottsdale Healthcare Classic, shooting 66-66.  He also returned to Greenbrier Resort in May and competed in the Sam Snead Golf Festival, winning by eight shots after shooting 66-65.

While he is finding success on the golf course, he is most proud off the course.  His wife gave birth to their first child, son Ashton Cooper, born April 16.

“Needless to say, Big Break Greenbrier started a great year for me and the birth of my son capped it off,” said Brian.  “Now, I have another pinch me moment by appearing on another Big Break.  I can only think of one way to cap this off…”

On his journey to pursue his dream of competing on the PGA TOUR:

“My journey is not the typical journey.  I did not grow up in a prototypical golf family.  My father and brother both played golf.  Once I got the bug, I was hooked.  I started out in Pittsburgh as a golf professional and moved to Arizona to further my golf career.  I became a golf professional in 1993.  The biggest thing that has prevented me from reaching the next level has been consistent financial backing.  Just like many players, it is tough to play without proper funding.  Big Break can help me overcome my obstacles and achieve my dreams.”
