Remarkable Equanimity

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – Woods was quite accurate when he said that he had driven the ball 'on a string' in the opening round at the AT&T National.

Unfortunately, he was also on the money describing his putting as 'awful' after missing twice from the 5-foot range down the stretch en route to a very disappointing 3-over 73.

'My speed was good but I never hit the ball on line,' he said after a power lip-out at the last that must have left him feeling more frustrated than he displayed during his post-round media interview, during which he displayed remarkable equanimity.
