The China Open will be played Nov. 25-28 at Shanghai's Silport Club, the tour said Tuesday. The Asian Open already was set for May 13-16 at the Tomson Golf Club in Shanghai.
George O'Grady, deputy executive of the PGA European Tour, cited China's growing economy for the decision to add another event.
Though the China Open will be played this year, it will count as the first event on the 2005 Order of Merit calendar, the season's money list.
The China Open has been a fixture for several years on the PGA Asian Tour.
