Nationwide TourPONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Zach Johnson, who won two times and shattered the money record with $494,882, was voted Nationwide Tour Player of the Year Sunday.
Johnson, 27, started the season without a card but was dominant from start to finish. He missed only one cut in 20 tournaments and finished in the top three in nine of those.
'To be named Player of the Year is an unbelievable honor, especially considering the amount of talent on the Nationwide Tour, Johnson said.
Past winners of the award include Chad Campbell, Stewart Cink, Jerry Kelly, Tom Lehman and Jeff Maggert.
Johnson will be a rookie on the PGA Tour next year.
