Moore Williamson Advance to Public Links Final

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Lee Williamson and Ryan Moore each won two matches Friday to advance to the final of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.
The winner of the 36-hole final will receive a spot in the 2003 Masters, if he remains an amateur. Both finalists earned berths in next month's U.S. Amateur at Oakland Hills.
Williamson, the Crawfordsville, Ind., player preparing for his final season at Purdue, beat Wren Fowler of Thomson, Ga., 5 and 3 in the rain-delayed quarterfinals and Brady Stockton of San Ramon, Calif., 5 and 4 in the semifinals at The Orchards.
Moore, of Puyallup, Wash., a rising sophomore at UNLV who played in the U.S, Open, edged Casey Lubahn of East Lansing 2-up in the quarterfinals and Chris Stroud of Groves, Texas, 3 and 2 in the semifinals.
The tournament is open to amateurs who do not have playing privileges on a private course.
