New Silly-Season Event in 2004

IRVING, Texas -- Chad Campbell and Paul Casey of England will play in a new silly-season event this year between 30-and-under players from the United States against the rest of the world.
The Tommy Bahama Challenge, four 18-hole stroke-play matches, will be played Nov. 9 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., and televised by CBS Sports on New Year's Day.
Invitations will go to the leading young Americans on the PGA Tour money list through the NEC Invitational, and to the highest-ranked players from the international team. Two sponsor invitations will complete the teams.
Gary McCord will be captain of the U.S. team, while David Feherty will captain the international team. Both are golf analysts for CBS Sports.
The purse is $700,000, with $100,000 going to each player on the winning team.
