Ochoa Wins Seventh Straight

Arizona's Lorena Ochoa set an NCAA record with her seventh consecutive tournament championship, shooting a 4-under 68 Sunday to win the Ping/ASU Invitational.
The sophomore from Guadalajara, Mexico, finished the 54-hole tournament at 9-under 207, four strokes ahead of runner-up Jimin Kang of Arizona State.
Ochoa, who now has 11 career NCAA titles, spent the last three weeks playing LPGA Tour events on sponsor's exemptions. She contended last Sunday in Tucson (tie for fifth) and the Kraft Nabisco Championship, where she wound up five strokes behind winner Annika Sorenstam.
Ochoa's eighth-place finish last week was the best by an amateur in 14 years in the LPGA major.
Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh, who was tied with Ochoa for the lead after the second round here, carded a 73 Sunday to finish third at 4-under 212.
Tulsa won the tournament for the first time since 1985 with a 7-under 871 total. Arizona State was second at 877 with Arizona in third at 881.
