Park Advances in US Junior Girls

Qualifying medalist In-Bee Park of Eustis, Fla., advanced to the second round of match play in the U.S. Girls Junior Championship on Wednesday, beating Sarah Brown of Tucson, Ariz., 7 and 5.
The 14-year-old Park, will face Laura Caniff of Russell, Ky., in the second round on the par-73 Echo Lake Country Club course. Caniff beat Amanda McConnell of Grand Blanc, Mich., 7 and 6.
Mallory Code, the 17-year-old player from Tampa, Fla., who has overcome cystic fibrosis, asthma and diabetes to become one of the top junior players in the country, also advanced. Code beat Katherine Hoey of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., 4 and 3.
Morgan Pressel of Boca Raton, Fla., the 14-year-old player who qualified for the U.S. Women's Open last year, advanced with a 4 and 3 victory over Carling Coffing of Middletown, Ohio.
Michelle Wie, the 12-year-old star from Honolulu who has played in two LPGA Tour events this year, was eliminated with a 19-hole loss to Kim Shin of Shoreline, Wash.
