PGA TOUR Extends Hawaiis Marketing Partnership

HONOLULU -- The Hawaii Tourism Authority has signed a new agreement with the PGA Tour, extending the state agency's official marketing partnership through 2010.
The new contract, which takes effect Jan. 1, includes an extension clause covering 2011 through 2014.
The contract ensures that the season-opening tournaments on both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour, in addition to other golf competitions, will continue to be held in Hawaii, state officials said Thursday.
There are currently six men's events played in Hawaii -- The Mercedes Championship, Sony Open, MasterCard Championship, Turtle Bay Championship, Wendy's Champions Skins Game and the PGA Grand Slam.
