Teams Shaping Up for Inaugural Goodwill Trophy Event

Golf NewsLONDON -- Golf has another team event.
It's called The Goodwill Trophy, and the inaugural event will be played Nov. 13-14 at the Mission Hills Golf Club near Shenzhen, China.
Described as an event to enhance trade and cultural exchange between China and Britain, the event will feature a combined Europe-U.S. team against an international team with players from Asia, Oceania and South America.
The two-day matchplay event will be held next year at Celtic Manor in Wales, the venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Colin Montgomerie will be playing captain of the eight-man Europe-U.S. team. He has one pick remaining and has already named Luke Donald, Paul Casey and Nick Dougherty of England, Chris DiMarco of the United States, Henrik Stenson of Sweden and Alejandro Canizares of Spain.
International team playing captain Retief Goosen has three picks remaining and has named Lian-Wei Zhang of China, Michael Campbell of New Zealand, Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand and K.J. Choi of South Korea.
Teams will play foursomes on the first day and singles on the second day.
