Woods Returning to China for HSBC Champions

European TourLONDON -- Tiger Woods is returning to China for the HSBC Champions.
Woods was second last year to David Howell, three shots behind in a world-class field that included Vijay Singh, Colin Montgomerie and Michael Campbell.
The HSBC Champions, to be played Nov. 9-12 at Sheshan International in Shanghai, is jointly sanctioned by European, Asian, Australasian and South African tours, along with the China Golf Association. Its $5 million purse is the richest in Asia.
'It's a title I really want to win, especially after chasing David so hard last year and coming so close,' Woods said. 'All the players appreciated the fantastic reception from the Chinese golf fans and the atmosphere was amazing all week.'
It will be the second HSBC event Woods plays this year. He also plans to compete in the World Match Play Championship at Wentworth a week before the Ryder Cup.
