Woods Will Play in Dubai in 2003

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Tiger Woods will play in the 2003 Dubai Desert Classic.
This is the second time Woods will play in the event, which is scheduled for March 6-9. Woods also played there in 2001.
'I'm really looking forward to getting back there (Dubai) and meeting with the thousands of golf fans who gave me such a great reception last time,'' Woods said in a statement released Sunday.
Negotiations with Woods went on for several months, and the final deal was clinched this past week.
'We worked hard on this, and we are delighted and thrilled that the greatest player in the world will be with us next year,'' Mohammed Ali al-Abbar, the tournament's executive committee chairman, said in a statement.
South African Ernie Els won last year's tournament, becoming the first two-time Dubai winner following his 1994 victory.
